Plant collecting has always been an important aspect of our Nursery.
As collectors we love adding new and interesting varieties to experiment with, to pass on growth requirements for when you purchase.Sourcing plants and developing relationships with growers and collectors on these trips come with stories and valuable information from the people who grow them.
Due to the increasing use of tissue culture, what was once considered rare or hard to source ,is now readily available from many outlets ,and so have lost their "rare" classification.
One of the ways to keep the romance of collecting and growing alive is to maintain traditional practices used for centuries .Asexual and sexual propagation is rewarding and has the integrity of maintaining original provenance.
It's become impractical to propagate many of the rare and hard-to-find plants by hand however, we will still retain most of our stock plants, if there is a species you've been looking for we can certainly propagate it for you.
